Luis Magana
Luis Magaña is a Brown Belt born in Mexico in 1995, and moved to Tri-Cities when he was a couple months old. Luis has been a lifelong martial artist, coming from a long family tradition of fighting, with his father always encouraging him to pursue a boxing career at a very young age. Throughout high school Luis traveled around the country competing and teaching as a break dancer, which helped him understand body mechanics and fueled his love for competition.
Luis competed in MMA for two years before enrolling into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Siri Kennewick in 2017, going through the belt system under Gustavo “Siri” Pires’ guidance. Luis’s passion quickly grew, and is now a multiple IBJJF Open Champion, Battle Grappling 125 Champion, IBJJF Purple Belt No Gi World Champion, as well as winning various local BJJ tournaments. As an instructor, Luis shares his wealth of competitive experience to ensures students are learning combat tested techniques, breaking steps down in detail to make sure anyone and everyone can apply it, no matter their skill level or size.
