About Our
History
Siri Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Pasco grew from a family’s passion for the sport and desire to share that passion with others.
Siri BJJ Pasco’s owner and head instructor, Wesley Cooper, initially enrolled his children in Jiu-Jitsu classes as a fun extracurricular activity four years ago. Little did he know that this decision would rekindle his own passion for martial arts, reminiscent of his wrestling background. As he participated in Jiu-Jitsu classes, guided by the mentorship of Gustavo “Siri” Pires, Wesley progressed exceedingly in the sport, utilizing his wrestling and grappling background to supplement the high-level jiu-jitsu instruction provided by his professor. The immediate connection and growing enthusiasm propelled him to pursue full-time martial arts training, which led him to accomplish several accolades within jiu jitsu competitions both locally and nationally. After just four years under Gustavo’s guidance, he was encouraged to establish an affiliate Jiu-Jitsu school in Pasco, Washington. Drawn by Siri BJJ’s illustrious history and legacy and his love for Jiu-Jitsu, Wesley set off to open his own academy in July 2023, with the goal of growing the jiu jitsu community and hoping to bring a positive transformation to his students the way jiu jitsu has done for him.
